What is the HAA Program?
The Hawkeye Accessibility Ambassador Program allows students with disabilities the opportunity to advance their leadership and advocacy skills while concurrently assisting the University with designing facilities that are more universally designed, inclusive, welcoming and supportive of individuals with disabilities.
As of Fall 2019, the HAA program evolved into a student-run activist group and combined with the University of Iowa Students for Disability Advocacy & Awareness (UISDAA): https://www.facebook.com/UISDAA/.

The Hawkeye Accessibility Ambassador program really transforms the lives of those involved. Once a shy first year student, I soon developed strong leadership as well as communication skills that would help me graduate college and get a job at the University of Iowa. The HAA experience has really transformed me into the professional individual I am today. - Josh Hannan, HAA Alumni, Supply Chain Associate - UI Purchasing Department
The UCS made several changes to our physical environment as a result of what we thought was a very thorough and very thoughtful process. Many of the changes had ease to them in terms of costs and process. Highly recommend this! - Barry Schreier, Ph.D., Director of University Counseling Service
